What is your favorite thing about MIT? The collaboration & community!

How did FLI help you during your time as an MIT undergrad? As an organization, FLI@MIT helped me to feel assured in myself while navigating MIT. While there were many unexpected hurdles, knowing that I was not the only person unfamiliar with the experience made me more comfortable figuring things out. As an identity, being a first-generation, low-income college student was a significant motivating factor in continuing to push through challenges.

What made you want to be a FLI Student Advisory Board member? I wanted to help support an organization of people with similar backgrounds in ways that feel impactful.

What advice would you give to your first-year self? It’s going to be hard…like really hard…but you are capable of overcoming challenges. Don’t doubt yourself.

What do you do for fun outside of work/school? Weightlifting, cooking, iPad games.
