Fall Semester UAC Advising Update

UAC Advisor Michael Santoro advising a student

The first semester of sophomore advising was a great success, marked by high student engagement in both advising meetings and programming. UAC Advisors worked with students and fostered meaningful connections while helping them identify academic, personal, and career goals. Advisors and students also built individualized plans for success and explored co-curricular opportunities.

Check-in Meetings.

Through targeted check-in meetings, UAC Advisors worked with nearly 40% of the sophomore class. Students were offered two meetings last semester, and one-third of those who attended the first meeting returned for a second. Strong student participation underscores the value students found in the UAC advising experience, and demonstrates the UAC’s impactful role in student success.

Drop-In Advising

In addition to check-in meetings, daily drop-in advising hours also successfully launched this fall. Without the need for an appointment, students could meet with an advisor to discuss registration questions and address general academic inquiries.

Programming and Events.

Our dynamic programming continues to expand students’ awareness of the UAC, as well as other campus resources. We hosted several well-attended events, including collaborative initiatives with campus partners, that created opportunities for students to ask questions, seek support, and connect with advisors – all in a relaxed, welcoming environment.  Many students took advantage of these events, enjoying snacks and fun activities while learning more about the resources available to them.

Looking ahead, everyone at the UAC is excited to continue building on this momentum as we continue to expand our offerings.
